Yeah, for the most part I think. I mean, that type of stuff is kinda hard to keep secret for long if you're "intimate" with someone, so...

Right. That makes sense. Where I'm from people aren't so ... open with stuff like that.

Not werewolves, no. But we do have people with abilities called metahumans.

Huh. That's a new one. But yeah, same basic principle I guess. Some people are always gonna hate you if you're "different" from them.

Or try and take advantage of people and use their abilities to their advantage.

You sound like you've had some experience with that.

I've had experience with a lot of things, unfortunately. The corrupt preying on the weak tends to happen a lot in my city.

Yeah. I'm a prosecutor now, but I used to work in a legal aid office before that.

That's pretty cool. It must have taken you a lot of hard work to get where you are. How did you know that's what you wanted to do for a career?

My dad was a cop. I've always been drawn to the law, and helping people, but my dad didn't want me to be a cop, so I became a lawyer instead.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Being a cop is pretty dangerous where I'm from. More than the usual amount, I mean.

Star City too. Being an ADA isn't really much safer in that respect but I've never really been one to back down from something out of fear. If someone wants me dead, that usually means I'm doing my job right.

So what about you? Are you a student?

Sort of. Back home, yeah. But not here. Although I've been thinking about it.

I'd recommend it. But then again, I am not good at sitting still, and am a bit of a workaholic, so my suggestion might not work for everyone.

I guess part of the problem is that I'm not even really sure what I should plan to study. Going to college never used to be on my radar so it's not like I ever gave it a lot of thought before now.

Well, the great thing about college is that you don't always have to be enrolled to sit in on classes. A lot of the 101 classes are so large that the professors probably wouldn't even notice if someone was there who wasn't supposed to be.

Grab a few, sit in on some of the lectures and see if there's anything that catches your interest.

Yeah, I could probably do that. I mean... It shouldn't hurt to try. Thanks for the advice.
