( she was literally just sitting with her head in her hands until she got a reply back, tbqh )
America seems to be home to so many curious things. Peter was explaining bleachers and cheer teams to me, just recently.
Good! I'm actually a minstrel at home, or I used to be. I've been trying to educate myself by listening to as much as I possibly can and taking notes on themes and concepts and words that are unfamiliar so I can endeavour to be less bamboozled by things from different worlds. Did you know "Waterloo" is considered one of the best songs ever sung at the Eurovision song contest?
( Leliana: she knows about Greek mythology and the Eurovision song contest, she's still mastering texting. )
[She gives a small shrug, before shaking her head.]
Maybe I've been in the Star City legal system for too long, but ... if these people have the power to make all these changes for us, I wonder sometimes how much they really need us to keep the city going.
Still settling in. I've been spending a lot of time at the museums and the university but so far that's just given me more questions than answers. Thankfully, the city administration seems to be pretty open so I'll probably head over to ask them eventually.
Don't be freaked out if you can't get a hold of me for a little while — I'm going back for a few days to try getting caught up to speed with everything that Snart and Rory have told me happens in my future. Not knowing everything for sure has been driving me nuts.
I'll send you a message whenever I get back so I can drop by.
( sara's pretty sure that leliana said something to laurel before she left — no, she's certain of it; leliana isn't the type to do something thoughtlessly and without regard for those that care about her. the text is mostly just because sara's feeling a certain type of way about the bard's departure and she kind of just needs to talk to her big sister, as difficult as it is for her to show her cards right away. )
[Leliana came by to see her. There were hugs and goodbyes and Laurel knows that she will miss her, but she also knows that Sara will probably miss her more. Comes with the benefit of knowing Sara beter than a lot of people do.]
( and she arrives in maybe even a little less time than that, knocking on laurel's door and then shoving her hands into the pockets of a leather biker jacket that she probably hasn't worn in years; maybe it's a comfort thing. she's always been bad at dealing with her feelings, so there's no need to start pretending like she's not. )
I thought about coming up with some vague reason that we need to run into each other. The I decided on the truth, which I haven't always been the best with. I miss you.
I guess I can do the normal person thing and go through the door. Between evading your dad when we were younger, and showing up as The Hood later on, I got pretty good at sneaking in thru your window.
text; this is literally the stupidest thing I have ever written I'm so sorry
( oh, merde, her thumb slipped and she sent the message. back to her rage: )
They butchered our language! I'm not even really Orlesian and this is terrible! How could anyone listen to this?
c'est la vie - b*witched.mp3
( and then, maybe a minute later, )
Laurel, I appear to have made a mistake in my haste. I promise I'm not always so
( how does she continue oh maker preserve her )
Do you like music?
( nice recovery )
text, to end } lmao it's perfect
We're Americans and it was the nineties.
[That's the only real explanation she has for that.]
And I do like music.

[ especially especially because people like ray are all too willing to dive in head first. ]
Have you started looking at anything specific, yet?

Okay. Be careful back there. I'll see you when you get back.
[Hopefully things won't be too crazy back there but she knows how their world can get.]

I would love some potstickers. I'll meet you there?
[She is very curious about her sister's new friend, as she is all of her sister's friends.]
ANONYMOUS TEXTING.
Do you help Kara Danvers steal the motorcycle in the forest or do you help park ranger Oliver Queen defend his prize?
The choice is yours, Laurel Lance. Choose wisely.

no subject
